Improves Students Engagement

Primary school students need to be engaged with learning, and reading is a critical part of their learning. Lexia Core5 places students at their ability level and allows them to learn at their own pace, focussing on the progress and performance of the student. If a student struggles in a unit, automatic branching moves them to Guided Practice with fewer stimuli and more structure.
If the student continues to struggle, they move to Direct Instruction, which explicitly teaches the skill to the student. Students still having issues are flagged for teacher-led individual or small-group instruction that can be provided through targeted teacher-led Lexia Lessons.

Helps Educators Identify Issues

With Lexia Core5, teachers get access to data performance of students reading skills. This data gives educators a key insight into any gaps that struggling students have and identify where intervention is needed. School reports can also highlight any weaknesses in literacy curriculum across the school.
The power of Core5 is in the real-time link between student performance in the programme and data for educators—providing insight on what students know, guidance on what they need, and specific resources to address those needs.

Lexia Core5

Focuses on the 6 Areas of Reading Instruction

  • Phonological awareness
  • Phonics
  • Structural Analysis
  • Automaticity/fluency

The Lexis Core5 program creates personalised learning paths for an individual student through adaptive placement and pacing in the activities.
